The console for this organ was made from pitch
pine, reclaimed from several of the church pews which were being
removed. The internal fittings were made from oak as we found there was not
enough clean pitch pine from the redundant pews, and the pine was rather
soft and yet hard to work accurately. Twin cases for speakers are mounted
high up on both north and south sides of the apse arch, also in reclaimed pitch
pine, and these contain twenty-four of the front pipes which formed the
case of the original Evans and Barr pipe organ.
